Quick Answer: Brands We Service in Charleston

Coastal Carolina Comfort services every major residential AC brand sold in Charleston — Trane, Carrier, Lennox, Rheem, Goodman, Daikin, York, and Amana — plus the leading ductless mini-split brands (Mitsubishi, Fujitsu, LG). As a Daikin partner, we carry Daikin parts on every truck and have deep experience with Daikin inverter systems. For other brands, our technicians service the equipment and source parts from regional distributors. The $110 diagnostic fee is the same regardless of brand, and it is applied toward the repair when you authorize the work.

Major Residential AC Brands We Service in Charleston

Every brand in the grid below is regularly diagnosed and repaired by Coastal Carolina Comfort technicians. Click through the brand details for one-line context on how that brand shows up in Charleston-area homes.

Daikin Partner

Daikin

Goodman

Goodman residential systems and the Amana sister brand. Common in budget-tier installs across Charleston subdivisions. We service all current and legacy models.

Fully Serviced

Amana

Amana residential systems, the Goodman sister brand under Daikin North America ownership. Same service depth as Goodman, with parts often interchangeable between the two brands.

Mini-Split Systems We Service in Charleston

Ductless mini-splits are a common solution for older Charleston homes without existing ductwork, garage conversions, and bonus rooms. We service the three leading mini-split brands.

Mitsubishi Electric residential mini-splits. The most common mini-split brand in Charleston historic homes and additions. We service single-zone and multi-zone systems.

Mini-Split

Fujitsu

Fujitsu General mini-splits including Halcyon series. Common in coastal homes and additions. Full service for indoor head units, outdoor condensers, and zoning controllers.

Mini-Split

LG

What Brand Do I Have? How to Tell Before You Call.

When you call for a diagnostic, knowing your AC brand and roughly how old the system is helps us bring the right parts on the truck. Here is where to look.

Outdoor unit nameplate

Walk to your outdoor condenser unit (the box on the concrete pad outside). Look for a metal nameplate or sticker on the side of the unit. The brand name appears prominently, usually along with a model number, serial number, refrigerant type, and date of manufacture. The serial number often encodes the install date — the first four digits are commonly the year/week format.

Indoor air handler label

The indoor air handler — typically in your attic, garage, mechanical closet, or basement — has its own nameplate. The brand on the indoor unit usually matches the outdoor unit, but mismatched pairings happen when a previous owner replaced one side. The indoor unit nameplate is often inside the access panel or on the side facing the room.

Don't worry if you can't find it

You do not need to identify the brand to book service. Call us, describe what is happening, and we will get a technician dispatched. The technician identifies the brand on arrival and confirms whether common parts are on the truck or need to be sourced from a regional distributor (which can add a return visit on less common brands).

Does the Brand Actually Matter for Repair?

For most diagnostic visits, no. All major residential AC brands use the same operating principles, the same basic component layout, and the same refrigerants. A failed capacitor looks the same on a Trane as on a Lennox. A refrigerant leak at an outdoor service valve repairs the same way on every brand. The technician's diagnostic process is the same across brands.

Where brand starts to matter: parts availability and same-day repair completion. Coastal stocks Daikin parts on every truck because Daikin is our install-partner brand. We also stock the most common universal parts that fit Trane, Carrier, Lennox, Rheem, Goodman, York, and Amana — capacitors, contactors, common motor sizes, common fan blades. Less-common parts (specific control boards, certain compressor models, brand-locked thermostats) get sourced from our regional distributor and may require a return visit.

You do NOT need a brand-authorized dealer to service your system in most cases. The exception is warranty work — if your system is still under manufacturer warranty, certain manufacturers require warranty parts to be installed by an authorized dealer for the warranty to remain valid. We identify warranty status during the diagnostic and tell you straight whether warranty considerations affect your repair path. For older or out-of-warranty systems, brand-authorization is largely a sales pitch rather than a service requirement.

AC Brand Coverage: Frequently Asked Questions

Coastal Carolina Comfort services every major residential AC brand sold in the Charleston market — Trane, Carrier, Lennox, Rheem, Goodman, Daikin, York, Amana — plus ductless mini-split brands Mitsubishi, Fujitsu, and LG. If your brand is not on that list, call us at (843) 708-8735. We can usually service less-common brands as well, though parts may need to come from a regional distributor.

For most repairs, no.

The most common universal parts — capacitors, contactors, common motor sizes, common fan blades — fit most residential AC systems regardless of brand or model year. We stock these on every truck. Brand-specific control boards, certain compressor models, and brand-locked thermostats are sourced from our regional distributor. For very old systems (15+ years), some parts are no longer manufactured and the repair path shifts to either substitute parts or system replacement. We identify these cases during the diagnostic.

Yes. Coastal Carolina Comfort is a Daikin partner, which means we have deep experience with Daikin inverter and conventional residential systems, we stock Daikin parts on every truck, and we install Daikin equipment on new system replacements when the homeowner wants that option. The partnership does not mean we only service Daikin — we service every major brand. It does mean Daikin parts are usually in-stock and repair completion on Daikin equipment is faster than on less-common brands.

Walk to your outdoor condenser unit. The brand name appears on a metal nameplate or sticker on the side of the unit, usually along with a model number and serial number. The indoor air handler (in your attic, garage, mechanical closet, or basement) has its own nameplate that usually matches. If you cannot find the nameplate or it is unreadable, do not worry about it — the technician identifies the brand on arrival.

No. The Coastal Carolina Comfort diagnostic fee is $110 regardless of brand. The fee covers the technician's drive, full system diagnostic, and a written repair quote. The diagnostic fee is applied toward the repair cost when you authorize the work. The actual repair price varies by brand only to the extent that parts cost varies — and we quote both the part cost and the labor cost before any work begins.

Yes. The vast majority of our repair work is on systems installed by someone else. We do not require that we installed your system to service it. If your original installer is no longer in business or no longer responsive, Coastal Carolina Comfort is a service-only option that does not push you toward replacement to capture the install commission.

Whichever Brand You Have, We Service It.
