Inspired by a family tradition, Derrick felt the HVAC calling deep in his blood. His grandfather, a skilled tradesman, imparted invaluable knowledge, making him realize that the combination of plumbing, electrical work, wiring, and carpentry in HVAC would never cease to be an exciting learning experience.
Derrick’s decision to establish Coastal Carolina Comfort wasn’t just a business move; it was a commitment to his values. When a local HVAC company tried to sell him the business, he declined, seeing through a deal that would have been detrimental. His dedication to honesty and integrity stems from his belief that every homeowner should receive HVAC services at a fair price, countering the prevalent price gouging in the industry.

Beyond HVAC, Derrick’s passion lies in boating, fishing, and traveling to Eastern Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge with his family. His wife, Cheyanne, his high school sweetheart, shares these interests, and together, they are expecting their third child, Emery, adding to their beautiful family, which includes Zoey (7) and Arianna (9).
Derrick’s upbringing in a small town in Floyd County, Kentucky, surrounded by a nurse mom and a coal miner dad, has shaped his appreciation for hard work and family values.
